Summer 2028 | Norfolk

Broadside Music’s Youth Summer School will bring together young singers for five days of exceptional choral music, new friendships and shared experiences in Norfolk. Both residential and non-residential places will be available.

Our 2028 Summer School will journey through the rich tradition of English choral music, from the extraordinary soundworld of the Renaissance period through to the twentieth century.

Led by experienced music teachers and professional musicians, the week will combine ambitious ensemble singing with time to explore the music beyond the notes. During the week, the choir will sing Choral Evensong in Salle Church, before the Summer School culminates in a final public concert in Norwich Cathedral. Alongside rehearsals and performances, there will be space to spend time together, enjoy our Norfolk surroundings and become part of a welcoming community of young musicians.

We want the Summer School to be musically ambitious, warm and memorable - a chance to sing wonderful music, challenge yourself and make new friends.

YOUTH SUMMER SCHOOL

From Byrd to Britten: The English Choral Tradition

WHO IS IT FOR?

The Summer School is for young singers aged 13 to 18 from across the UK and further afield, who love singing with others and want to take their choral music-making further.

You might sing in a school, church, cathedral, county or youth choir, have individual singing lessons, or simply be a confident musician with a love of choral music.

Above all, we’re looking for singers who are enthusiastic, musically curious and ready to throw themselves into the week.
