technical information collected when you use our website, such as cookies and website usage data.
For courses and programmes involving children and young people, we may also collect information from a parent or guardian.
-
Some Broadside activities, including our Summer School and future Young Artists and education programmes, are specifically designed for children and young people.
Where necessary, we may collect information including a participant's name, date of birth, school year, musical experience, voice part, recordings submitted as part of an application, parent or guardian details, emergency contacts and information required to support their welfare and participation.
We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to administer applications, assess suitability, deliver our programmes and safeguard participants.
Where appropriate, information and consent will be sought from a parent or guardian.
We take particular care when handling the personal information of children and young people and do not use their information for unrelated marketing purposes.
-
Some Broadside programmes may require an application, including the submission of an audio recording.
Recordings and application information are used only for purposes connected with assessing the application, planning the programme and, where relevant, supporting the participant's musical development.
They will only be accessible to those who reasonably need to review them as part of the selection or programme process and will not be published without appropriate permission.

If you join the Broadside mailing list, we will use your contact details to send you news about our courses, concerts, events, education projects and other Broadside activities.
Joining our mailing list is optional and separate from booking or participating in an event. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link contained in our emails or by contacting us.
Where consent is our basis for sending marketing communications, we keep an appropriate record of that consent.
We will not sell our mailing list or personal information to other organisations for their marketing purposes.
The ICO currently requires electronic-mail marketing consent, where relied upon, to be specific, informed and given through a clear positive action; consent should also be recorded and withdrawal made easy.
-
Payments made through our website are processed using our chosen third-party payment and website providers.
Broadside Music does not receive or store your full payment-card details. Payment providers process this information in accordance with their own privacy and security policies.
We may retain appropriate transaction information for accounting, tax and administrative purposes.
-
For some events and programmes, we may need to collect information about dietary requirements, allergies, medical needs, accessibility requirements or other circumstances relevant to participation.
Some of this information may constitute special category personal data under data-protection law.
We will only collect such information where it is necessary and will restrict access to those who need it to safely administer the relevant event or programme.
Where appropriate, relevant information may need to be shared with those responsible for a participant's welfare or with a caterer, venue or other service provider where necessary to accommodate a stated requirement.
-
We may take photographs or make audio or video recordings at Broadside events for appropriate promotional, archival or educational purposes.
Where children or young people are involved, we will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable images or recordings for promotional purposes.
Where appropriate, we will also provide participants with information about photography and filming in advance of an event.
If you have any concerns about photography or filming, please contact us.

We do not sell personal information.
Where necessary, information may be shared with trusted organisations or individuals who help us operate Broadside, including:

venues;
caterers and event suppliers;
professional musicians, tutors and programme staff;

regulatory, safeguarding or legal authorities where required.
We only share information where there is a legitimate reason to do so and seek to limit this to what is necessary for the relevant purpose.
-

it is necessary to fulfil a contract with you, such as providing an event or course you have booked;
you have given us your consent, for example to receive marketing emails;
we have a legitimate interest in operating, administering and improving Broadside Music;
processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; or
another lawful basis applies, including where information is necessary to protect someone's vital interests.
Where special category information is processed, we will also ensure that an appropriate additional legal condition applies.
-
We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting, insurance or safeguarding requirements.
Different types of information may therefore be retained for different periods.
When information is no longer required, we will securely delete, anonymise or otherwise dispose of it as appropriate.
If you unsubscribe from our mailing list, we may retain limited information necessary to ensure that your preference not to receive marketing is respected.
-
We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.
Access to personal information is limited to those who reasonably require it for their role.
